The Position of the island

Fuerteventura,

not far away from the african coast (120km) offers a balanced climate.

The water and air temperature between summer and winter are only a few degrees celsius.

The continusly wind lets forget the hot sunbeam which can be very dangerous for the skin. For discovering the island, the best is to rent a car. If its enough money availible, a cross country vehicle should be prefered, because otherwise the insurance will not pay for any damage of the car when country cross roads are used. And there are a lot of lovely places which can be only reached via such roads. There are two tourist center on the island, one in the north which is Coralejo and one in the south which is Jandia. Anyway there are a few nice places with not so many tourists. For example in the north Cotillo. Here can be found the most english spoken people, as well as in Coralejo.
